The Multimedia Fountain suffered a major technical failure on Saturday, 20 June 2026. A lightning strike hit the nozzles of the main water geyser, damaging the fountain’s systems.
As some components and mechanisms need to be replaced, the daytime, evening and special shows are currently taking place in a limited format. Some of the fountain’s features and mechanisms may remain temporarily unavailable.
According to the information gathered, no one was injured in the incident, but it caused significant damage to the lighting system that the Fountain shows rely on. Many of the devices were burned out and require replacement. Because the Multimedia Fountain and its mechanisms constitute a large and highly complex technological system, the delivery and replacement of the damaged components will take several weeks.
On this occasion, it is necessary to reiterate the absolute prohibition on entering the fountain basin. This ban is directly related to ensuring the full safety of all visitors to the complex, yet it is unfortunately violated almost every day despite widespread written and audio announcements. On hot days, a great way to cool down during a visit to the Hala Stulecia complex is the small ground-level fountain located between the Wrocław Congress Center and the Multimedia Fountain.
We apologise for all inconvenience caused by the failure. As the team of Hala Stulecia, we will do everything possible to restore full operation of the Multimedia Fountain as quickly as possible.

New show PIXAR: Summer of Friendship
After the huge success in last year’s season, the show “Pixar: Summer of Friendship” returns to the Multimedia Fountain. Created in collaboration between Disney and the Centennial Hall, the spectacle is inspired by the most beautiful friendships from Pixar Animation Studio films, including the one from the first full-length computer-animated film in cinema history – Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story”.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Pixar has become synonymous with the highest quality of animation created through a combination of original ideas, great emotions, and innovative technology. “Pixar: Summer of Friendship” is a show in which the most famous Pixar stories come to life through music, dancing water, colorful lights, and projections. The show will feature characters from almost the entire Pixar filmography – from “Toy Story” through “Monsters, Inc.”, “Up”, “Inside Out” to “Turning Red” and the studio’s latest theatrical release – “Hoppers”. Of course, fan favorites from “Cars” will not be missing: Lightning McQueen and Mater. In the show, we will hear, among others, compositions by Oscar® winners Randy Newman and Michael Giacchino, as well as iconic songs, including the unforgettable “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” performed by Stanisław Soyka. The role of the narrator is played by actress Maria Sobocińska, who is connected with Pixar through her dubbing roles – Ember in “Elemental” and Olga Solis in “Elio”.
About the Multimedia Fountain
We said – here everything is “most”. The Wrocław’s Multimedia Fountain is the biggest in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe. Its grand opening took place on 4 June 2009 on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of free elections in post-war Poland. It had been a gift for the citizens of the city.
Today it is one of the most important attractions, constantly attracting tourists from Poland and from abroad. The structure occupies an area close to 1 hectare, with light points, 300 water jets and 3 fire jets placed at the bottom. This natural element! Water shows are accompanied by classical, contemporary, pop and ambient music.
Daytime shows are spectacles of water + music. They take place every day on the hour between 10:00 – 17:00.
Evening shows are spectacles of water + music + light illuminations. They take place every day on the hour between 18:00 and 21:00 and at 21:40.
Special shows are spectacles of water + music + light + multimedia projections on a water screen. They take place on Friday and Saturday evenings according to the schedule below.

Attention! The water in the Multimedia Fountain and in the small fountain located next to it is not intended for consumption. Additionally, entering the basin of the Multimedia Fountain is prohibited – violating the bathing ban may result in a fine.
